Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)

We help businesses obtain and perform under federal, state, and local government contracts. We provide procurement technical assistance by offering counseling on selling your products and/or services to the government.

The PTAC can help North Carolina firms in their efforts to secure a share of government contracts by providing comprehensive assistance in selling products and services to the Federal Government. Assistance is also provided in selling to state and local governments in North Carolina.

The core of the procurement assistance program is confidential counseling. PTAC counselors in North Carolina can provide assistance in such areas as:

  • research contract award histories
  • understand solicitation requirements and terminology
  • locate specifications and standards
  • register with Central Contractor Registration (CCR)
  • explain how the federal government uses electronic transactions
  • search government databases to identify opportunities for your product or service

PTAC also provides assistance in group-settings through seminars and workshops which are given at locations in North Carolina on a variety of topics, such as:

  • how to do business with the government
  • how to prepare bids and proposals
  • how to participate in electronic commerce with the government
